Settling in for the long haul

As I get into the routine of gymming, eating obscene amounts of food and taking my protein supps, I'm starting to slip into a contented sort of rhythm, and slowly - very, very slowly - I'm seeing some small improvement in my physique. My pectorals are shaping up nicely, and my ribs are graaaaadually disappearing behind a thin layer of manliness. This will hopefully begin to accelerate as I start to lift heavier weights, you know, what with being in the gym's creche at the moment.

And so it begins...

I've finally started on my protein shake enhanced diet, and I have to say, mostly my tummy hurts. After 3 days of taking 3 x 1 scoop shakes a day (I like to keep things spread out) which enhances my diet by 60g of protein per day (actually more - I mix with whole milk), I've found that my stomach is really unsettled and I can't stop burping. Other than this, nothing much to say about it, but of course it's very early days. I'm hoping within the next few weeks I'll start to notice the difference

Good things and bad things...

What a mixed up week this has been... On one hand, as of tomorrow when I go into work to pick it up, I finally have my protein supplement - I'm using pharma whey, and this should be the real boost I need to finally break that 64kg barrier that I've never broken before. This makes me happy.

Another new PB

Swimming this morning was AMAZING. I spent a good long time relaxing in the sauna, and I started off with a warmup of 8 lengths. After another 20 minutes of sauna time (Yes, I really do love the heat) I pushed on and did those 24 lengths in one hit that I targetted myself. So all in all I did 32 lengths - otherwise known as a half mile, definately a PB.

Crap week...

After a number of annoyances this week, I've decided to write it off as just a crappy week. I weighed myself early in the morning before breakfast, and weighed in at just 61.4 Kg, which is less than my first weigh-in, though I keep doing it at different times of day which gives massively fluctuating results. I ate a big meal after this, and drank a pint of milk, which made my weight rocket to 64.2 Kg. Who'd have thought just one meal could weigh 3 Kg?
