Hi all, this is my first post on the boards although I have been lurking for some time.
I have to say the transformations pulled off in the competition were absolutely jaw dropping, hopefully I will be able to pull off a similar transformation myself in the near future! I'v been training on and off for about a year but with little or no direction and my diet has been poor to say the least so I havn't made much progress.
I feel its time for me to step my training up a gear and stop messing around and start taking it seriously.
I'm a typical "skinny fat" bloke and I can't decide whether to bulk or cut, when I have time (probably over the weekend) I'll post a pic and hopefully get some opinions on what I should be doing and how I should be doing it, once I have decided on my goal I'll start a training log for motivation and hopefully pick up some helpful tips along the way from you highly knowledgable members!

Cheers
Matthew

Hey folks

New fish here who is wanting to learn more about the supplements on the go and also about different training routines. I have done nearly all my shopping through Monster now for nigh on a year so about time I found out more about them from other members etc. Supps I have used and are my favie mainly the PHD, mainly due to my friend telling me of them and how good they taste (and they do taste quality). PHD Whey, Diet Whey, Synergy, Blend and Lean Degree mostly the ones I have used to lose weight and get some sort of shape back! Now I have done this I would like to take my training to the next level with your help.

Thanks.

Hi all,

I've only started serious weight training recently. Only 7 months ago I was over 15st, unfit and a 20 a day smoker. I started a tour in Afghan in January and made the most of the opportunity to start training. 4 months later I was down to 13st and smoke free.

I've been keeping the training going since I got back but i'm starting to get a bit confused with all the different advice i'm getting. I started taking Reflex Micro Whey to begin with along with Sida Cordafolia and Nutrisport Cut and Burn. Once i'd got my body fat down to a decent level I changed to bulking up. I've been using Sci Mx GRS-5 along with the Mx Hardcore and Explode. I've been on this program for about 2 months now and I am now contemplating switching back to cutting. Is this a good idea? Should I alternate between bulking up and cutting on a regular basis? What's the best supplements for me to take for each cycle on a budget of £50-£80?

I am greatful for any advice as I want to get my training right and being in the army i'm always getting conflicting advice from every direction!

Hi everyone,

I have been looking at the forum for a couple of weeks now and everyone seems friendly and helpful :D

I hope to pick up loads of tips and support to keep me on the right track.

My immediate goal is to tone up, strip any unneccessary fat and get fit for the marathon I plan to run in April next year.

Cardio is not my strong point but I do have someone pushing me and keeping me on track there; I dont want to lose weight doing so though, and I do want to hone my muscles so they are 'fighting fit' but look good too.

Any advice on doing so would be gratefully received!

I'm cleaning up my diet and will post it soon; supplement-wise I'm into PHD! Using PHD Pharma Whey, PHD diet whey bars (yummy and have cracked my chocolate addiction!!), PHD flap jack, PHD Recovery after long runs and Catalyst. I also take a glucosamite and chondroitin complex for joints.

That's probably enough of me waffling for now folks, hope to chat soon!

Hi everyone,

I'm Lee... currently standing at about 194lb and 17-20% bodyfat. My journey so far is pretty good if I say so myself. This time last year I was 18 stone and well out of shape with pictures to prove it. I grabbed my life by the balls I guess and now I work out religiously and track calories ridiculously. However fat loss has stalled quite alot and over the past 3 months I don't feel like i've shifted too much. I do feel more defined though. Currently eating 45/35/20 cpf ratio! and having spent time posting on other sites at times I think its time to come and show some support for people this side of the great atlantic and hopefully be able to grab my supplements nice and easily with the help of everyone involved in the community.

Hopefully I can offer some help here and offer motivation that push's us all!

I don't have a permanent supplement supply atm and drifting from company and product sampling different things, I settled on usn igf-1 for a while but currently on reflex instant whey (chocolate mint is awesome!).

Ask anyone I know they'll tell you i'm the most commited to achieving my goals that someone can be and thats why hitting plateaus is driving me insane!

I've been tempted by the pharma whey and lean degree or maybe some grenades, any recommendations?

I think i'm probably carb sensitive and I've been eating very clean for months now, my greatest progress was achieved restricting carbs which is something I might have to do... now time for me to go read TJLEE's blog and i'll upload my progress pictures so far.

Hi all,

I've been ghosting on the forums for a little while now. Some really interesting articles floating around.

I've been training for the better part of 18months now and have come a long way from my starting point.

I'm 6', 30yo and last time I checked I was 16.5 stone. This is down from 23 stone about 8 years ago.

I was following a low GI diet and that helped me shed a stone, but since moving up to Scotland, finding somewhere to live and the finding a gym, I fell off the rails!

I read somewhere on here about my fitness pal, I've installed it and started using it yesterday. Man its shocking to see what you can eat in a day!

My goals were confused before, I'd go for bulking to trying to strip and I'd yo-yo between the two. This time round, I'm looking to lose more fat and get down to 16stone by Christmas (easily acheiveable) and take it from there. I'd always trained by feel rather than using science, so I guess its lucky I made the progress I did.

Look forward to using these forums as a proper member!

Ciao for now

Greetings, Just a bit of background on myself. I'm 52 and have kept myself in general good health most of my life (I used to box). I've spent the last 4 years in Asia not really doing any fitness and managed to put on a stone. Mostly belly fat.

Joined a gym on return to UK 6 months ago and spent the first 4 months just winging it with mostly cardio. Not much intensity, just building a base. About 2 months ago, I booked a couple of sessions with a trainer at the gym. A competition bodybuilder. He upped my calories, got me doing sprint intervals in between weight circuits and the results have started to show. I'm still a way to go but I'm sure we all know, when you can actually see something happening, its a big lift.
I'm not trying to bulk up as such. but i have increased lean mass and want to continue that further.

My numbers so far are these; Start; 15st 2 lb BF 27%

After 4 mnths; 14st 3lb BF 23%

After 6 mnths(new regime) 13st 12lb BF 21%

I've cleaned up my diet and recently gone up from 1600-1700 cals to 2100cals and also I'm not afraid of good fats anymore (although I have to still convince myself to get more carbs in)
I have one cheat day which is my Darts night on Monday. I dont go silly eating but have 4 pints of bitter! I dont touch any alcohol the rest of the week.
I would really appreciate any feedback or advice of any kind. Realise I'm new but will try and publish some photos to guage future progress. cheers.
